From December 2024 to February 2025, AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG managed a DAP delivery of over 10,000 CBM of cargo from China to Korea. The shipment included an out-of-gauge drying room module that had to be transported in four stages. The total cargo weight exceeded 1,200 tons.
The most complex aspect of the shipment process was storage. The destination port was very small and could not accommodate long-term cargo storage. Meanwhile, unloading took approximately one month, as the consignee had to construct a special site to receive the cargo. AsstrA’s experts successfully negotiated exclusive storage rates, ultimately saving the client more than $30,000 in storage fees.
“The most challenging part was port handling. The Yempo Port in Ulsan, Korea, is very small and non-bonded, meaning the vessel can't discharge cargo before customs clearance is completed. Since the port is so limited, we constantly had to coordinate with the port agency to ensure availability. At one point, the entire port was filled with pallets from this shipment alone,” shared Chentao Zhang, Business Development Manager at AsstrA.
With 30 years of experience in the logistics market, the Swiss group of companies AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG efficiently organizes transportation between China and other countries, ensuring uninterrupted deliveries and the most cost-effective solutions for its clients.
