Despite numerous challenges, Ukraine's agricultural sector continues to develop actively, with efficient logistics solutions playing a crucial role in this process. AsstrA collaborates with many agricultural producers to ensure the transportation of agricultural products, including grain crops.
An example of successful collaboration is the case of organizing rail transport, where AsstrA transported 22,500 tons of grain crops over six months.
The client, who has elevators with railway sidings at one of the stations on the Southern Railway, exports wheat, soybeans, and corn through the port of Chornomorsk. For these purposes, AsstrA Ukraine provides the transportation of grain in open-top wagons using Maxi Bags.
As part of the project implementation, the client receives a full range of logistics services. The AsstrA team handles the submission and coordination of the monthly plan, electronic application submission for loading, preparation of railway bills, provision of rolling stock, payment of railway tariffs within Ukraine, and station fees.
A representative of the logistics operator works at the loading station, overseeing all processes on-site. This ensures that any issues are resolved promptly and that the wagons are loaded without any interruption.
"We completed the last shipments of the 2023 harvest just two weeks ago, delivering 5,700 tons of corn in May and June. To execute this transportation, 97 wagons were used, supplied as quickly as possible to optimize client costs and avoid elevator downtime," shares Daria Vakarchuk, Forwarder Rail Freight Division at AsstrA.
