Experts from AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG successfully provided turnkey services supporting the delivery of chemical industry equipment from Germany to Kazakhstan.
The client turned to AsstrA to transport a container of oversized cargo from a chemical plant in Minden, Germany, to Uralsk, Kazakhstan. The cargo weighed over 3.5 tons and had dimensions of 6.5 x 3.3 x 3.5 meters.
Thanks to 4 weeks of careful project planning and organization, the cargo arrived in perfect condition in Kazakhstan in just 9 days.
"In logistics projects, it is important to anticipate and address potential challenges early and often, especially when dealing with oversized cargo. Initially, we considered a scheme involving transshipment at the border. To minimize the chance of handling-related complications, however, we opted to rely exclusively on road transportation. This single-mode approach involved a different set of challenges, such as finding suitable vehicles and complying with customs procedures. Even so, we accepted these challenges in order to prioritize cargo safety,” emphasizes Asstra Industrial Project Logistics Specialist Oksana Ustyuzhanina.
"The planning stage was not easy. We had to revise documentation several times and postpone loading in response to multiple cargo parameter updates. Our team nonetheless stayed agile and found optimal solutions to minimize changes without adjusting the initially proposed delivery costs for the client," notes AsstrA Sales Specialist Aliya Aldashova.
"Proper customs clearance can often be the most important success factor in a project like this one. To ensure smooth cross-border delivery, from the very beginning of the project we put significant effort into choosing the right solution, assessing all potential risks, analyzing documentation requirements, and requesting all information necessary for full compliance,” shares AsstrA Customs Clearance Specialist Nurlan Akan.
Thanks to meticulous preparation and professionalism, the project was completed perfectly on schedule and serves as yet another example of the AsstrA team’s ability to capably handle even the most complex international logistics assignments.
