Over the past decade, trade between the European Union and China has grown in both directions. An obvious imbalance, however, has led to a significant oversupply of empty containers waiting to return to Asia. Accordingly, container prices and customer demand for storage facilities have risen in the European market.
In response, AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has introduced empty container storage services at the company’s Małaszewicze terminal, which is strategically located near those of Polish State Railways (PKP), Agrostop, Adampol and Europort.
"The total area of the AsstrA terminal is 3 hectares. We store containers up to 1500 x 40 HC. Customers do not have to worry about the entire delivery process, including the preparation of necessary documentation. The service was launched in October 2021. Today, every month we store an average of about 400 containers. The warehouse can store up to 1,500 40-foot containers," says Irena Topalova, China-EU Rail Freight Transportation Division Head.
The terminal is guarded and equipped with an HD monitoring system. AsstrA is committed to providing full security and top quality services. The warehouse is located in the customs zone, so customs services do not entail additional costs. AsstrA’s empty container services are competitively priced. In the next few years, we also plan to provide storage services for loaded containers.
