In international logistics, customs clearance is one of the most important supply chain links. Businesses often rely on specialized customs agencies to ensure that goods flowing between customs zones are properly documented.
In the spring of 2022, AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG’s Lithuanian representative office opened a new customs agency in Vilnius with local partner Ormina.
"Groupage cargo transportation is one of AsstrA Lithuania’s most popular offerings. Groupage cargo consists of multiple consignments of various types of cargo that must each be individually cleared through customs. The process is more complex than if a vehicle was carrying only one type of cargo. Each item has its own CN code, and customs tariffs will vary according to goods nomenclature,” says Vilius Augulis, Branch Manager at AsstrA Vilnius. "Opening a customs agency here was a logical step towards optimizing our groupage shipment organization processes. Our clients can now receive a comprehensive range of services via a "single window." With colleagues from other departments, our customs clearance experts promptly prepare all necessary accompanying documents as they organize goods shipments."
The new customs agency is located at AsstrA’s partner’s warehouse, where customers can take advantage of a full suite of services supporting imports, exports, and T1 document preparation in addition to warehousing, loading, unloading, and temporary storage.
