In 2023, China’s international Belt and Road Initiative – aimed at improving and creating new trade routes, transport and economic corridors – will mark its tenth anniversary.
On December 26, the "Khorgas (China) – Kazakhstan" International Business Forum was held to discuss the global project’s results and prospects.
With the forum, the organizers – the heads of the Chinese International Chamber of Commerce in Khorgas and the Kazakh New Silk Road Public Foundation – gave representatives of Chinese investors and their business partners in Kazakhstan a platform to build deeper ties.
Ramilya Akhmetova, AsstrA Almaty Branch Director, was a speaker at the forum. She described the corporate group’s unique approach to responding to current conditions in the global logistics market. She also stressed AsstrA’s readiness to further support, promote, and develop the Belt and Road Initiative.
The International Business Forum in Almaty ended with signings of a number of investment, trade, and economic agreements and contracts between Kazakh and Chinese enterprises, clearly indicating that businesses from both countries are interested in working together. Of particular note is that the Chinese International Chamber of Commerce in Khorgas will be opening a representative office in Almaty.
