In April, a client from the fashion industry asked the AsstrA Trade China team to implement a warehouse scanning solution in their factory.
“A vendor asked for on-site scanning services to be set up at out our customer’s factory. Some warehouses provide this value-added service. Here, however, to minimize loading, unloading, and transportation costs, together with our partner Nippon we organized an outsourced team to handle this on-site for our customer,” says Xiaomin Bian, Foreign Trade Specialist on the AsstrA Hi-Tech sales team.
Storing inventory might seem like a simple process. A client orders products from a supplier, gets it delivered, and place the items on a rack.
In reality, it’s a comprehensive process that must be done right to ensure successful fulfillment operations. The purpose of scanning is to check and match the correct SKU for each shipping order when it is loaded. If a problem is encountered, it can be resolved before shipment to make sure that all the right cargo reaches the destination as expected.
“In this project we worked closely with the customer’s IT Division. They developed an application for scanning and verifying cargo, and they wanted us to implement it and make sure it was synchronized with their system. We studied the software and produced standard operating procedures for our customer to train their team with. The scanning solution is now up and running successfully. We organized, schemed and implemented the programme in just one week , to ensure the goods move out without delay,” concludes Xiaomin Bian, Foreign Trade Specialist, AsstrA.
This project is yet another example of AsstrA Trade China’s “you can rely on us” attitude and expertise in delivering customized value-added services.
