On October 13, AsstrA participated for the second time in the “Time for the Forest” tree planting campaign in cooperation with the Aeris Futuro Foundation. Thirty AsstrA team members planted 100 trees in Gapinin, Poland. The initiative was undertaken in line with the the ESG (E –environmental, S –social responsibility and G – corporate government) strategy.
The event began with a lecture about planting feasibility, permaculture, regenerative farming, and an introduction to the Mgiel Valley habitat. After the safety briefing, the AsstrA team started planting linden, alder, and hornbeam trees.
"This was a great event held jointly with Aeris Futuro. For me, it was especially important for two reasons: firstly it helped nature and the local ecosystem and secondly it strengthened social bonds with colleagues and local authorities," shares Dmitri Krolov, Sustainable Development Manager at AsstrA.
After the planting ended, the AsstrA team took part in master classes on how to build birdhouses and houses for insects. The event organizers then invited them to a chill-out area in the forest for treats and a bonfire.
"A golden Polish autumn, a picturesque place on the bank of the Pilica River, and the teamwork of colleagues in a corporate social responsibility project. That’s what the day was all about. The trees we planted should reduce 7.5 tons of CO2 in the environment. Each and every small step we take to neutralizing carbon dioxide makes a significant contribution to climate protection," sums up Kamila Rynkiewicz, Senior Marketing Specialist at AsstrA.
