After the global lockdown in 2020 and the "return of dolphins to Venice" in the spring of 2021, the business world is gradually returning to normal. Russia relaxed quarantine measures in January/February 2021, and most EU countries did so at the end of May. Most business events are shifting from fully online modes to hybrid formats in which delegates can participate both personally and remotely.
In order to offer constructive solutions to customers, experts from the AsstrA international corporate group stay abreast of market trends. This year in early spring, Nikolai Rukavishnikov, Deputy Operational Director for Railway Transport, and Oksana Lysogor, a Railway Transportation Specialist, attended a seminar called "Railway Transport Claims Work.”
Oksana Lysogor
"A logistics operator aims to structure transportation processes so that there is no claims work. In case disputes do arise, they should be resolved with as few resources as possible. We attended this event, therefore, based on the principle that "forewarned means forearmed”. At the seminar, the speakers discussed practical cases and covered topics like legal risks, how responsibilities are allocated to different supply chain participants, and how claims work can be optimized and digitized,” says Oksana Lysogor.
The next event the AsstrA team attended this spring was a conference called "The Digital Track of Chemical Industry Enterprises."
Lyudmila Abragimovich
"Digitalization is becoming a trend in every industrial sector. The discussions at this conference helped us better understand demand for digital logistics solutions in the chemical industry," summed up Lyudmila Abragimovich, Head of the AsstrA Chemical Logistics Department.
On April 29, logistics "heavyweights" gathered in St. Petersburg for this year’s BreakBulk Russia conference. Maxim Platonov, an AsstrA Sales Specialist who attended the event, shared his impressions:
Maxim Platonov
"This is an annual meeting with oversized transportation experts. There you can discuss opportunities and challenges in project logistics and really keep your finger on the pulse of the industry. There are plenty examples of recently implemented projects that help you understand what the market needs right now.”
Also on April 29, a conference called "Zernologistika” in Novorossiysk focused on the transportation of agricultural products was held..
Anastasia Bachinina
"The main topic of Zernologistika was the export of cereals and oilseeds. The reports examined the export destinations and routes and identified bottlenecks at railway and port terminals,” says Anastasia Bachinina, Country Manager for Russia’s Southern Federal District. “The second day was devoted to networking. Grain season is currently considered closed, so it was important useful for market actors to have these discussions in an informal setting.
