On October 3, the 11th edition of the "Run Warsaw" sports event took place. The iconic initiative, which brings together thousands of runners every year, promotes physical activity as an element of health and urban life. It is also a great way to spend some free time. The 10 km route ran through Warsaw’s Łazienki Park and nearby streets.
This year's edition was attended by 2,500 participants. The event, intended for both professional and amateur sports enthusiasts, gives runners an opportunity to overcome their weaknesses, gain perspective, and enjoy a flow of endorphins at the end of the race. The event involves an element of competition, but it is mostly about the shared experience and positive vibes. Fans in a parallel “Marching-Cheering” event walk along the same route while cheering on the runners and creating a supportive atmosphere.
Vladislav Novak
”I first attempted a 10 km run in the "Run Around the Zoo" event in Warsaw in 2019. Jogging along the paths surrounded by nature and animals, I felt a surge of healthy energy that I looked forward to experiencing again. And so I decided to take on this year’s “Run Warsaw” event as a member of the AsstrA Loves Sports team. The route didn't seem too difficult. Huge support from fans gave me the inspiration and strength to cover the distance in 55:25 minutes. The event is not just about competition, but next year I will aim to finish higher in the rankings,” says Vladislav Novak, Freight Forwarder in AsstrA’s Benelux Division.
The day’s autumn weather was favorable for the runners. Rays of warm sun peeking out from behind the Łazienki Park’s trees complemented the runners’ energy to heat up event’s atmosphere.
Dmitrij Stepanov
“I try to lead a healthy lifestyle, so I am open to new sports challenges. Encouraged by my colleagues, I decided to take on this run. 10 km is a long distance and that I believe requires some training in advance. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend this type of activity. It helps you maintain mental balance and stay motivated to keep exercising to stay in shape. Physical activity is very important, especially for people with stressful jobs. Working in logistics requires dedication and commitment, and a good work-life balance is definitely necessary,” sums up Dmitrij Stepanov, Freight Forwarder from the Central Europe Road Freight Transportation Department at AsstrA.
