For several years, Polish newspaper Gazeta Finansowa has been publishing a ranking of the 1,000 largest companies in Poland. Changing market trends, the development of digital technologies, and the country’s economic conditions have caused certain sectors to expand or contract. AsstrA Polska Sp. z o.o. has participated in the ranking for the last three years, during which time the company has moved up 147 positions.
AsstrA Polska Sp. z o.o. is part of the AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG corporate group, which is headquartered in Switzerland and has been on the market for 25 years. The company began operations in Poland in 2001 and since then has been expanding the range of services it provides there. By 2030, the AsstrA group aims to be one of the top 10 logistics companies in Europe in terms of turnover.
According Gazeta Finansowa’s ranking, the top ten largest Polish companies are from the fuel, food, energy, insurance, mining, and metallurgical industries. Logistics company AsstrA Polska took the 583rd position with an annual revenue of 120 million PLN, which was up 14.3% compared to 2018 and 2019.
The coronavirus pandemic resulted in lower fuel prices, lower energy consumption, and financial losses in the automotive sector. Automotive companies have thus been forced to evolve their management strategies related to many aspects of their businesses, including personnel policies, organizational structures, and office leases. Maintaining cashflow and being able to adapt flexibly to new market conditions are now more important than ever.
Even though demand for transport and logistics services remains stable, companies in the sector must adapt to upcoming changes related to the European Parliament’s Mobility Package, which tightens regulations concerning road carriers.
Brexit and labor shortages are the next challenges the European transport industry will face. To stay financially solvent, transport and logistics companies need to automate technological processes and optimize pay structures as well as production and warehouse operations.

We will not be able to fully assess the consequences of the pandemic until next year. The 2021 ranking will show how the situation affected Polish companies’ operations and financial results.
