In the logistics industry, being able to respond quickly to customers’ needs is extremely valuable. Therefore, express transport solutions exist to help you deliver shipments to end recipients as soon as possible. Customers choosing such solutions from the AsstrA corporate group can safely deliver cargo even on the same day it was loaded.
Express deliveries are an innovative form of logistics service supporting the delivery urgent LTL movements up to 15 tons. During the first 9 months of 2020, the AsstrA Partial Loads Delivery Division turned over 5 million euros forwarding express delivery cargo. The team has already executed 7,000 transport orders so far this year and expects to complete 10,000 in all of 2020, 25% more than in 2019.
Cargo commonly shipped by AsstrA express delivery customers includes agricultural products, chemicals, cosmetics, tobacco products, toys, packaging, machine parts, and FMCG. Primary destinations include Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland.
As Express & Partial Loads Division Head Christian Eckstein emphasizes, the team also implements express shipments overnight to ensure customers receive their orders the next business day. The team handles an estimated up to 80 such shipments per day.

“We see a growing demand for express services, so plans for 2021 include hiring new employees in the AsstrA offices in Magdeburg, Prague, Warsaw and Bergamo. Next year we also want to extend the V4-certified secure van transport project (https://asstra.com/press-centre/news/2020/8/asstra-launches-express-van-deliveries-with-v4-security-certification/). Thanks to additional security systems and monitoring which will enable a quick response to unexpected situations during transport, customers can be confident the cargo being transported is safe. Moreover, time critical partloads are organized on a direct way without any reloading in standard big trucks,” comments Christian Eckstein.
In order to ensure quick and efficient responses customers’ requirements, for the last two years AsstrA group experts have been working to automate the company’s logistics tender evaluation and proposal processes. They have developed a unique services pricing calculator that factors in client characteristics, trade lanes, KPIs, and Sales and Operations Planning. The calculator determines rates depending on the number of transported pallets, shipments, and kilometers traveled as well as the cargo weight. Thanks to this innovation, AsstrA clients will receive a quick, competitive rates for their shipments.
“When it comes to transport orders, we aim to reduce our inquiry response time below 30 minutes and achieve a 20% order conversion rate. This mean faster acceptance of the customer’s order for execution and its immediate processing,” sums up Christian Eckstein.
