A regular plenary meeting of the Coordination Council for Trans-Siberian Transportation (CCTT) was held in Moscow on November 5-6. Since its inception in 1997, the platform has focused on building cooperation and interaction between participants in cargo transportation from Western Europe to Japan and Southeast Asia.
The meeting of the members of the Coordination Council was held online. The primary goal of the discussion was to strengthen the position of rail as the most efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transport in Eurasia. The following issues were also raised:
- improving demand for transit, export and import,
- increasing speed and quality of transportation,
- analyzing and developing new routes in response to digitalization,
- development of electronic document management.
Sergej Omeljanjuk, Regional Director for CIS Countries, participated to represent the interests of the AsstrA international corporate group.

“The online format of the event has become familiar to AsstrA. It is pleasant to note that the efforts made at the past meetings are yielding results, and the participants share impressive successes. Freight traffic is growing, while the quality of related services is also improving,” says Sergej Omeljanjuk. “Moderators and speakers of the conference recalled and noted the convenience of the classic format of a ‘live’ meeting. However, given the circumstances, I would like to thank the secretariat for organizing a meeting in such an unusual situation. We had success discussing “gray areas” and outlining a plan for the coming months."
