At the beginning of this year, one of AsstrA’s key Clients took advantage of the sea freight to ship metal finishing machinery from Italy to Mexico.
“The AsstrA team organized the transport of cargo loaded on 6 flat rack containers. Special trucks from Italy took the cargo up to Genoa Port, where specialists lashed the cargo to the flat rack units. After that, company experts ensured that all procedures were followed properly as the cargo was loaded onto an ocean vessel which delivered the cargo to the destination point in Mexico. What stood out about this project was that the loading and lashing of the cargo in port needed to be completed in only 2 days. “In 2018, an AsstrA Partner took advantage of professional intercontinental sea freight to provide technological equipment to the biggest Italian oil and gas company, which is building a refinery in Luanda, Angola. It was a very interesting project. From September 2018 to March 2019, AsstrA experts were shipping technological equipment to the new refinery in Luanda, Angola. To implement the project safely and on time, AsstrA specialists delivered the cargo with 1 flat rack platform and 10 containers. Shipments to Angola are particularly complicated due to the documentation required by the Angolan authorities. It has to be approved at the time of shipment. Thanks to the AsstrA team’s experience, the Client received tailor-made sea freight solutions that met all requirements,” summarizes AsstrA Sales Specialist Stefano Morlini.
Another interesting sea freight transport project executed by AsstrA experts involved sea freight from Italy to Egypt.

AsstrA experts organized delivery of a full line of metal working machinery in 2 batches to Port Said, Egypt. All the cargo was shipped in 20 open top containers and dry containers. “Recently, our Client from the metal industry received professional sea delivery of construction machinery parts and metal goods from China to Italy. The cargo was transported in 2 lots of 18 containers. AsstrA experts discharged the load into a Partner warehouse in Trieste and reloaded it into standard trucks which were sent on to Russia. The project was a big adventure. AsstrA experts faced many challenges. The shipper in China damaged a wooden case while loading it and did not inform our Customer in Italy about it. During discharge, the AsstrA container team discovered the damage, informed the Client, and rebuilt the case with experts at the port so as to ensure the highest level of service. The Client received all this professional services in less than 1 week in full peak season!” highlights Europe Container Division Specialist Artem Martyanov.
