The end of April was full of interesting events that the AsstrA team could not miss.
On April 19, ChemoLogic XIII was held in Moscow, Russia. Every year, this international conference is the top Russian chemical logistics trade event. At this year’s, AsstrA CIS Regional Director Sergey Omelianyuk presented a report called "A New Type of Logistics Solutions for Producers in the Chemical Industry."
"In order to offer specialized logistics solutions that guarantee high quality for customers, it is necessary to have your finger on the pulse of the industry. Such events help one better understand the needs and requirements of a particular market, in this case for chemicals," said Sergey Omelyanyuk.
AsstrA experts attended a similarly interesting event called "Heavy Caspian 2019" on April 25 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The focus there was logistics for oversize and heavy cargo, especially within Asia.
"Being at Heavy Caspian was very productive. A lot of useful information, exchange of experience, analysis of cases on the most interesting projects, and of course the opportunity to communicate informally with potential partners and customers about the development prospects of project logistics in Asia," Margarita Dyadyaeva, Managing Director of AsstrA Almaty, recalled.
The next important event in which the logistics provider took part was an international conference called "From Europe to China on the New Silk Road: Railway Logistics Transit Through Belarus," held on April 26 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The key topic here was the effective partnership of railways, carriers, and logistics chain operators serving routes between Europe and Asia.
Andrey Sulla, AsstrA Acting Deputy Director for Railway Transportation, shares his impressions of the event:
"Regular meetings with market leaders are necessary both for improving our company's services and for the development of the railway logistics sector in general.
During the conference, topical issues were raised on the further development of one of the most popular rail freight routes - between Europe and Asia. The forum participants paid special attention to the development of multimodal services, issues related to interfacing railway routes at the 1520 mm / 1435 gauge junction, and easing traffic at the Brest/Terespol border crossing by relying on the Svisloch, Bruzgi, and High-Lithuanian alternatives."

Accordingly, on April 26 AsstrA experts were at Logistics Open Tournament VII, an English-language competition held at the Russian University of Transport Engineering. AsstrA experts served as competition jury members now for the fourth year in a row. The competition was attended by students of the country’s leading universities, including the Higher School of Economics, GUU, MADI Ranepa, RSTU. Mendeleev, PRUE. Plekhanov, and the Russian University of Transport. Their results were evaluated by representatives of more than 30 companies such as JSC "RZD-Logistics", AirBridgeCargo, Gefco, FM Logistic, X5 Retail Group, Reno, Ozon, Coca Cola, International Logistics Academy, Tetra Pak, and of course AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG.
"The tournament is a wonderful event in all respects.
