Central Asia's largest exhibition and conference for transport and logistics services, the Kazakhstan International Transport & Logistics Exhibition (TransKazakhstan/Translogostica), took place in Almaty on September 18 and 19, 2018.
TransKazakhstan 2018 brought together 83 companies from 13 countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Finland, Estonia, and South Korea.
This year for the first time, TransKazakhstan was held in an exhibition center. The participants discussed industry issues, introduced new projects, and shared know-how. Particular attention was paid to improving the efficiency and further development of Kazakhstan’s national transport and logistics capabilities as well as to state policies toward other "New Silk Road" countries regarding the development of transport systems and mutual cooperation.
"The development of Central Asia is one of our priorities at AsstrA. Active participation in events of this level is an important component in the implementation of these plans. We held a number of fruitful meetings with clients and partners: we discussed both current working realities and prospects of cooperation in the developing markets of Central Asia. Also, issues of participation in the “New Silk Road” development coordination council came up frequently," commented Andrey Sulla, Deputy Director of Rail Transport Operations at AsstrA.
"The exhibition helped build relations with existing suppliers and customers. Through personal meetings we could quickly find a common language with partners and outline a plan for further development with them," says Dmitry Gerber, an AsstrA Railway Department Specialist.
“We had a productive meeting with the head of the shipping terminal on the Russian-Chinese border. We discussed rail transportation and the development of cooperation related to the transshipment of goods. Also, we agreed on an additional overload control gondola to accelerate the completion of empty rolling stock."
"Personal meetings at the exhibition are definitely useful. It is easier to form strong relations with suppliers. I have repeatedly noted that after personal meetings, further dialogues are much more effective. A customer or partner has a positive impression and perceives information better. The format of exhibitions is especially convenient for establishing contact with partners from other cities or countries. Setting up personal meetings is a challenge when you have to worry about day-to-day business – at the exhibition, personal meetings are the focus," said Ksenia Erofeeva, AsstrA China Feight Forwarder.
