International transport and logistics provider AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG won a recent tender for the door-to-door transportation of tobacco products. The organizer of the tender was the largest wholesale seller of tobacco products in Russia. As a result of this tender, AsstrA signed a contract to deliver 300 cargo containers from the manufacturer’s warehouse in Volgograd to locations across Russia through the end of June 2019.
AsstrA experts offered the Client a range of services including road transportation from the cargo owner's warehouse to the departure rail station and from destination rail stations to recipients’ warehouses, provision of containers and fitting platforms, organization and oversight of loading and unloading operations, delivery of products in containers by rail, and cargo security services.

The first shipment took place in early August. AsstrA specialists organized the successful delivery of tobacco products from Volgograd to Novokuznetsk. Representatives of the company personally monitored all stages of loading operations in order to comply with the rules and requirements agreed with the customer, with special attention to the safety and security of the cargo.
"Transportation of expensive commodities like tobacco products involves certain risks. In order to ensure the cargo’s security, AsstrA specialists organized a continuous monitoring system for the transport unit along the entire delivery route," said Andrei Sulla, Deputy COO for Rail Freight Transportation at AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG. “On the way from the warehouse to the departure station in Sarepta, the truck with the goods had an armed escort and GPS tracking. The railway provided security during rail transport. AsstrA always takes such a systematic approach to safety when working with high-value cargo."
