As part of a strategy to strengthen its position on Asian routes, AsstrA continues to roll out express container trains services from/to China, including some using the Trans-Siberian railway (TCM). To date, such transportation accounts for about 60% of all railway shipments organized by the company.
"At AsstrA 2017 was a great year for new Partnerships. We signed a five-year joint venture memorandum with the Russian United Transport and Logistics Company (UTLK) to offer transportation on the China-Europe-China route. We joined the Coordinating Council for Trans-Siberian Transport (CCTT). We signed an agreement with the Russian Ralways’ Center of Corporate Services (CFTO) to process payments for transit routes through Russia. The results of these Partnerships are already noticeable. Because we are strengthening relationships with large owners of railway assets, increasing our range of transportation services, and ensuring that our railway offerings have favorable conditions, we have welcomed more than 200 new customers over the past year. By the end of the year, we plan to increase our volume of rail cargo transportation by more than 15%," says Andrey Sulla, Deputy COO for Rail Freight Transportation at AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG.
